Golden Makopa

Edited by Zac B. Sarian

GOLDEN MAKOPA. One of the recently introduced fruit trees that could as well be a landscaping material is the golden makopa. This has predominantly yellow leaves with some green spots. It bears elongated fruits that turn bright red when ripe.

Earlier, varieties with maroon, green and two-toned fruits were introduced from Thailand and Taiwan. Another interesting makopa that is good for the home garden is the miniature variety with bright red fruits that are seedless and are very nice to eat.
