| MANGOSTEEN AT CLSU.
Some 1,000 mangosteen trees have been planted in shady areas
inside the campus of Central Luzon State University in Muņoz,
Nueva Ecija. The seedlings which are growing very well were
provided by Bernie Dizon who has techno demo farm at the
university. Photo shows Dr. Tereso Aguinaldo, professor and
member of the board of regents of CLSU, posing with Bernie Dizon
with the young mangosteen trees. Mangosteen has good potential
as a money crop in Luzon, especially in the coconut growing
provinces of Laguna, Quezon, Batangas and other provinces. |

| MANGOSTEEN
PLANTING AT CLSU. Some 700 mangosteen seedlings have already
been planted on the campus of the Central Luzon State
University. Still, more are being planted. Here, CLSU President
Rodolfo C. Undan and grounds improvement foreman Donato Vigilia
are planting another one, a grafted seedling. Mangosteen grows
in partially shaded areas such as under acacia trees, coconut
trees and others. The first plantings at CLSU are growing very
well and are expected to bear fruit in few years. Bernie Dizon
who has a techno-demo farm at CLSU supplies the planting
materials. |
