HARDENING OF SEEDLINGS BEFORE PLANTING

If the seedlings come from a shaded area, it should be hardened first to avoid environment shock when planted in the field. "Practice" first the seedling in a 70% shade if it came from a fully shaded area. After one week, reduce the shade until the seedlings become fully exposed to sunlight. This technique basically applies for trees that do not need shading like mango, lychee and citrus.
